For my art and wine project “Art Pongo”, I was screening an innumerous number of photos on the internet. And then I saw her: Baby Suria, sucking her thumb. I felt it instantly. This is the Orang-Utan Baby representing this endangered species. Capturing the essential expression of an animal is the specialty of Tazi and Remco from RT Reference Photos. They make an artist’s life so easy, as every photo they create is an artwork on its own. My “Art Pongo” project raises awareness and collects money to support the Sintang Orangutan Center in Borneo, founded by the wildlife activist Willie Smits. Baby Suria, with her dark brown eyes, draws the attention to the viewer and arouse the feeling to support these endangered animals. Thank you, Tazi and Remco for your amazing help through your art for us wildlife artists."

For artists looking for a high quality photo of wildlife to use as a reference, then I highly recommend their photography! I used one of their photos, a Cheetah cub, which I drew in white charcoal and black carbon pencils. I entered this drawing in ‘Explorers Against Extinction, Sketch for Survival’ art competition. Out of 3000+ entries, my drawing made the final 100, which has gone on to be displayed at their exhibition tour in Norwich, Edinburgh and London. It will then be auctioned off to raise funds to support their projects."
