THE CHALLENGE
Create an art piece in the art style of your choice (i.e. paint, draw, airbrush, woodburn, sew, sketch, cut, scratch) of the WHOLE lion and give him a new background. It may be natural, one colour, abstract, bokeh, fantasy, whatever you find suiting to this majestic lion king. Just as long he is in the piece from head to toe... This can be piece filling or a tiny lion in a beautiful background. That is all up to you.
TERMS OF PARTICIPATION
AKA what you need to know before you join.
ENTRY CRITERIA
- The WHOLE lion must be in your piece (so no cropping this time), where you place him and how large (or small) he is in your piece we leave to your creative process.
- The background from the reference photo may NOT show How you fill the background is up to your creativity and artistic style. It may be one colour, it may be soft, it may be blurred, it may be his natural surroundings, it may be abstract or whatever feels right for you.
- You may enter one art piece per participant;
- It may be any form of art - Note: Digital art is not allowed, with the exception of digitial drawings.
- You must tag @rtreferencephotos in your work in progress posts/reels and when sharing the finished piece on your socials.
DOWNLOAD OPTIONS
You can choose between using a
- FREE websize (533×800 px) version of the photograph. The art piece you create may not be used commercially. In case you later decide you do want to sell the original piece and/or prints if it, exhibit it or enter it in other competitions you can purchase the Standard Royalty Free License afterwards.
- High resolution (4000x6000 px) download for € 12,50 including Standard Royalty Free License for commercial use (of the original art piece, prints etc.) up to €1.000,-

SHARING YOUR PIECE AND WIPS ON SOCIAL MEDIA
When you share work in progress posts (photos or videos) you must tag @rtreferencephotos. You may also send us WIP photos or videos by email or DM. We might use your footage and photos to create a in work in progress post/reel on our own social media.
And like we did the previous challenge, you may (in fact, you must 😇) share a post or reel of the finished piece in your social media. Do make sure to tag us @RTreferencePhotos, otherwise we might miss your entry! We will share these posts/reels in our stories and ask our followers to vote. Does your piece not fit the Instagram post size? Make sure to send us your entry seperatly too, so we have the full size piece as well.
COMPETITION
Voting will be done for each piece individually. We will then add up all votes per participant and that will get us the top 4, who will then be competing in a final voting round in our stories. The winner(s) will get a voucher (value €25,-) to spend on www.RTreferencePhotos.com
CLOSING DATE
13 October 2024 (Midnight, your local time), but you may share your finished piece any time before that date on your socials.
